Industriële Ovens - FAQ
What is a clean room oven?
Clean room ovens are specifically designed to work within a clean room environment. A clean room oven will include features to reduce particle shedding. For the highest clean room classes, it is often better to install the oven outside the clean room in the "grey area" for ease of maintenance. In this configuration the internal chamber is accessed through the clean room wall in the style of a ‘pass though’.
Can I use a standard laboratory oven instead of a dedicated clean room oven?
It may be possible to use some standard laboratory ovens in place of clean room ovens. The clean room class will dictate which oven type can be used. For ISO 14644-1 class 5 and class 6, dedicated clean room ovens are available. These include design features to prevent contamination caused by particle shedding, such as particle-free silicone rubber door seals, fully sealed insulation, and fully enclosed brushless fan motors.
Which ISO standards apply to a clean room oven?
ISO 14644-1 applies to clean room ovens. It specifies a range of classes of air cleanliness in terms of the concentration of particles in a given volume. Clean room ovens are designed to ensure they comply with this cleanliness standard and will specify which clean room class they comply with. Clean room ovens use design features to prevent contamination caused by the shedding of particulate matter. The stainless-steel interior and white epoxy painted exterior are easily cleaned.
